The summer is here with many Israelis relocating abroad and many returning to Israel.  If you know of new arriving post-docs and professionals in the life science, exact science and cleantech as well as physicians please forward this email to them (use the link at the bottom of this email) and ask them to join us.
If you are returning to Israel please note that we are establishing BioAbroad alumni with a mission to provide a support network for returning members to ease the transition back to Israel. To change your BioAbraod status to an alumni member please update your details and put "Israel" in the country field (click here to update your profile).

  • The Ministry of Absorption is financially assisting independent scientists who will return and open a consulting business!  more...
  • BioMed 2009 - our team presented 30 CVs in our booth.  We exposed more companies to the Israeli talent abroad.  These companies will start publishing their open positions with BioAbroad. 
  • The two first grants by BioAbroad and Misrad Haklita for job interviews travel to Israel were distributed.  We would like to remind that the maximum grant is 50% of the flight ticket cost up to $700.  Grants will be given every month by BioAbroad-Misrad Haklita's steering committee, retroactively, to the applicants with the largest number of interviews.  The full guidelines for candidates and the application form can be downloaded here {pdf} or at our website.  Filled and signed applications with a copy of the flight tickets receipts should be sent to info@bioabroad.org.il .  Correspondence related to the meeting may be requested in a later stage. 
  • Quick navigation was added to our homepage. We added relevant information on topics regarding the return to Israel in our Returning to Israel section. We included important documents about writing a great cv, excelling in your interview and using social networks in our Find Job in Israel section

  • Bar-Ilan University is pleased to announce a new faculty recruitment initiative. Candidates for a tenure track position as members of the Bar-Ilan Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials in the Departments of Chemistry, Physics, Life Science and Engineering are sought. Junior and senior candidates will be considered.   • The Weizmann institute updated its terms of acceptance for the Senior Intern position.  The position is open now for researchers without the privious limitation on the number of years that passed from their graduation.  This is an advanced/instructor-equal position which is conducted under the supervision of a  Weizmann's PI. The position includes social benefits.  Details are here.

  • When returning to Israel, you ar eligable for a special discount from El Al. Choosing your exact return flight with El Al is done now directly with ElAl by using the following document
  • The levels of the financial support to the employer of a returning scientist were recently doubled to about 60,000 NIS per year for two years, a list of the support levels are here. Scientists from abroad can now receive eligibility letter from Misrad Haklita for potential employers prior to their return (after registering as a returning scientist).  We hope this will increase the chances that an employer will employo scientists from abroad.
