Grants for Travel to Israel for Job Interviews
BioAbroad and Misrad Haklita give grants for travel to Israel for job interviews.  Maximum grant is $700 or 50% of the flight ticket cost.  Grants will be given every month by BioAbroad-Misrad Haklita's steering committee, retroactively for travels made from April 2009, to the applicants with the largest number of interviews.  The full guidelines for candidates and the application form can be downloaded here {pdf}.  Filled and signed applications with a copy of the flight tickets receipts should be sent to info@bioabroad.org.il .  Correspondance related to the meeting should also be included including copies of emails

Benefits for Returning Scientists to the Industry

  • Financial encouragement is given to employers for employing returning scientists from master degree to post-doc. For post-doc scientists Misrad Haklita will finance 60,000 NIS over 2 years. These incentives are paid directly to the employer but many of the employers contribute these sums, fully or partially, to the scientist’s salary. You can find the details of this compensation here Many employers are not aware of this support therefore it is highly reccomended to remind this when applying for a position.  Please note that these funds are given only for employing Madan Hozer after the scientist was registered and approved with Misrad Haklita.
  • Marie Curie International Integrational Grant is a research grant for scientists returning after at least 3 years. A sum of 100,000 EUR will be given to the employing company for financing the research over a period of 4 years. Eligibility should be checked with ISERD prior to signing a contract with the employer and the begining of the research. Click here.

Benefits for Returning Scientist to the Academy 

  • Academic faculties that recruit returning scientist will receive up to 31,000 NIS per year for 3 years. click here.  
  • Marie Curie International Integrational Grant is a research grant for scientists returning after at least 3 years. A sum of 100,000 EUR will be given to the employing research institute for financing the research over a period of 4 years. Applications should be submitted prior to the begining of the research.  Click here. 
  • Starting Independent Research Grant by the ERC, aiming to provide support to the independent careers of excellent researchers at the stage of establishing their first research team or pursuing independent research for the first time. Click here
